On the first day i was mainly experimenting with some photographs i took of the internet before hand, i realy liked these due to the fact that they was related to radiation and hazmat. i started using colour tape and sticking them in random areas to give it that industrial look. after that i took photos of it.
STAGE 2.
After that, i used the photos above and edited them on a app called "glitche" on there i changed the images colours, inverted them and used many affects that come with this app.
STAGE 3.
I Printed of the images above and then took them to the gileteen and cut them up in random ways. After that i started mounting them onto a black board of card until i was happy the way they looked, then i used some washi tape and clear coloured tapwe to stick them down to the board, i tried to place the washi tape in random places for the abstract look.
STAGE 4.
Then i chose one of the photos above and put in photoshop. Then i duplicated the image and inverted in 180, after that overlaid the 180 image with the normal one and turned down the opacity to make one more visible then the other.
I realy liked this image and i think it has gone through enough distortion and stages that it was ready to be framed.
STAGE 5. FINAL OUTCOME
For my final outcome i decided to do a small exhibition just outside class. I printed a load of the overlay images in a5,a4 and a3 and some in Ohp film, i started sticking them onto the wall in random ways and started using the washi tape again. I also decided to use some pictures on the windows so thats why i used the oph film so it was see through on the mirror through the light. Im realy happy the way this came out.
WWW:
Going through many stages to show the distortion and how it goes from an average picture to a abstract one.
I though hard on where mount the images and the tape to make the final image more abstract, I did this by not having a pattern and certain arrangement.
When taking the images I evaluated and understood how to take the images so i could have a range of different images, When selecting the images i chose images showing foreground, middleground and background.
EBI:
Next time I need to learn more about how to use various manual settings on the camera like ISO, aperture and shutter speed. This will help me have more control over my overall image.
The artists I researched were Paul Strand, Dafna Talmor, Blondey Mcoy, Uta Barth and many more photographers related to abstraction. I discovered them through lessons, they taught me ways on how to take photographs to make them more abstract, they taught me about lighting and foreground and background. Furthermore, they taught me about how anything can be abstract if you cant tell what the image is. My main theme at the start of the project was things based around radiation, nuclear and hazmat. I decided this theme because ive always been interested with the images and art and objects based around that theme. I used this theme by using images of a websight called "Calibration", this is a brand based around the them of industrial/hazmat. However. throughout the project and going through each stage it developed into no longer hazmat but i am still very happy with the outcome.
